Employability Fund Courses

The College has been awarded funding from Skills Development Scotland (SDS) to deliver a range of different programmes through the Employability Fund.

Are you eligible?

The general eligibility criteria for the Employability Fund are:

16-17 years old, reached statutory school leaving date, is not in education, employment or training

18 yrs and over, in receipt of benefit, unemployed for 13 weeks or more and not participating on the Work Programme —– contact Job Centre Plus for referral

18 yrs and over, in receipt of benefit, unemployed for 13 weeks or less and not participating on the Work Programme—– contact local Job Centre Plus for full eligibility and referral

18 yrs and over NOT in receipt of benefit and not in education, training or employment

The following courses are planned:

Stage 2 – Laying the Foundation for your Career

Personal Development for Employment

Stage 3 – Vocational Training

The programmes offered at this stage will help you develop your employability skills and vocational skills in College or through an employer. Work experience will be an integral part of these programmes:

Pathway to Construction
Pathway to Hairdressing
Pathway to Employment

Stage 4 – Employer Engagement & Job Matching

Programmes have been devised for those who need a short qualification to progress to employment quickly

Training Allowances

Depending on individual circumstances, a Young Person’s Training Allowance, DWP Training Allowance or College Bursary may be payable.

Job Bonus

A job bonus of £50 will be paid to students who move to employment.
